GLASS BUBBLES (Q Cell)

Q-cell and glass bubbles are two types of fillers that are used in the marine industry to make lightweight, sandable, fairing compounds. They are added to polyester and epoxy resins to create a thick gravy consistency that can be used to fill gaps, holes, and other imperfections in boats.

Q-cell is a fine, lightweight, white powder that is made up of 50-micron sodium silicate borate glass spheres. It is cheaper than glass bubbles but is harder to mix into resin as it is much lighter.

Glass bubbles, on the other hand, are also lightweight and easy to sand, but they are made up of hollow glass spheres
